Voters To Pass On Three Measures In Montana Ballot

Helena June 30 Montana voters will decide yes or no on three initiative measures appearing on the fall ballot. They cover a 5 mill school levy, repeal of state laws on alcoholic liquors with minor exceptions, and a cent gasoline tax for good roads. The school levy is backed by the State Teachers Association and May Trumper. The gasoline tax has been heavily petitioned with 14 656 certified and 631 over required. 23 counties were required but 29 have petitioned. The dry laws measure is from an anti prohibition group supported across several counties.
