A telegram informed guardian W M Oliver of the death of Howard Leason in Reno Nevada from heart failure at about age 13. Son of Dr J H Leason a prominent former resident, Howard had been ill for months and died after treatment in Schurtz and Reno. Interment was in Reno.

Skating Frenzy Hits Redrock After River Ice Jam
Gus Voshage visits Dillon and jokes about Redrock turning into an ice rink as a river jam floods the town. A dam formed above Bedrock diverted the stream and flooded streets, nearly washing out the Hill home before dynamite opened the channel and restored normal flow.

Death of Bertha Harkness Shocks Dillon Community
Miss Bertha Harkness aged 20 of Dillon died after a brief illness while en route to Butte. Born June 24 1884 at Horse Prairie she spent most of her life in the county and worked at the Golden Rule store. Funeral set for 2:30 pm at the Episcopal church with burial at Mountain View.

Big Ranch Deal Closed in Twin Bridges
An eastern company has closed the purchase of the Max Jauter bach and Jacob Wyrouck ranches near Twin Bridges. The 10 000 acre transfer is valued around 85000 dollars and marks the region’s largest ranch sale in years. Purchasers plan to divide land into small tracts for sale to homeseekers, with early leasing expected. A winter wheat crop may be sown next summer to test irrigationless profitability. Lauterbach will move his sheep holdings to the upper Ruby valley and oversee the herd.

Edward Fennel a 40 year old laborer died suddenly of heart failure last Thursday at Armstead while en route to work on the railroad. He belonged to the Knights of Pythias in San Francisco and to the Naples in Ogden. His remains will be sent to Klianira New York for burial.
