Dillon correspondent recalls a 1866 Bannack Christmas memory in Beaverhead county. A festive sled with oxen and a mixed band paraded through the gulch as miners and locals celebrated, the scene featuring a driver in disguise, a makeshift fiddle, and raucous, uproarious street pageantry that frightened the women into fleeing home.
