Holiday Season Dust Dominates Dillon Area Weather
The Dillon area in the 1953 holiday season endured dry winds and dust clouds with mild temperatures rather than deep winter cold. Beavershead County saw some snow on higher ground and nearby Butte recorded snow. Dillon itself remained bare and dusty except for two light snow showers. A high wind on Jan 2-3 stirred up dense dust, followed by a westward snow shower on Jan 3 depositing under an inch of snow while temps stayed cool enough to keep it unmelted.
