Beaverhead Mining Shows Great Year With Birch Creek Smelter
A comprehensive Beaverhead year in review notes a new Birch Creek smelter in operation at the Indian Queen mine turning 30 to 40 tons of copper daily. The district boomed with 30–40 workers, bonded claims, and major discoveries including rare molybdenite near Mount Torry. Ajax mine in Big Hole basin expands, while placer work in Argenta and Bannack remains steady despite low metal prices.
