Well Known Matron Dies At Dillon Home
Mrs. B L Chism a prominent Dillon matron died Sunday after months of illness at her Railroad avenue home. She had recently returned from Rochester Minnesota and was 49. Funeral services were held at Brundage chapel with burial in Preston Idaho. Surviving are her husband seven sons and four daughters including George Leslie Bernard Clifford Woodrow Jack B L Chism Jr Helen Jensen Mary Bergquist Ruth Pederson Jessie and three brothers and a sister. Also two sons are in the U S Army. Nineteen Beaverhead area schools were invited to a Tuesday March 3 newspaper clinic at Dillon High School led by Edward B Dugan UM journalism instructor. The event runs 8 20 to 12 lunch 1 to 2 30 four one act plays 3 30 to 5 private paper conferences and a 5 30 banquet in the Little Theatre.

Charter Members Guests at Dillon Lodge Reunion Night
Members of Dillon lodge 1554 B P O E were honored as special guests at a meeting recalling the night in May 1929 when the charter became operative and the first class of 100 was initiated. Exalted Ruler Homer Faust said the event served as an impromptu reunion night for charter members and candidates.

The Beaverhead National Forest yielded 6,260,000 board feet in 1941, per Sup. W. B. Willey. Death Claims Beaverhead Rancher Theodore Nelson
Theodore Nelson a well known Beaverhead valley rancher and former county commissioner died Monday at Barrett hospital after years of ill health. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Methodist church with Rev. J. A. Meeke officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View cemetery. He was 81, born November 20, 1860 in Norway. He came to the United States as a young man, settled in Dillon in 1881, worked in Butte, then ranching near Dillon for about 55 years. Survived by wife Nannie two sons Hugh T Nelson of Butte Norman R Nelson of Dillon a daughter Mrs Flwood Morricon of Dillon a sister Mrs Nels Lund of Fort Francis Ontario Canada and four grandchildren.

About 50 attendees fill the Roselle Inn banquet room for a Dillon Rotary dinner with Armstead residents. Parke T. Scott presided, Theron Sargent organized, and Assessor Judson P. Best gave a talk on taxation history from cave man days to a modern wartime world. Additional remarks came from Dale Metlen and Sen. T. E. Gilbert. roughly 36 Dillon guests attended and roast turkey was the centerpiece.
