Monida and Yellowstone Park Line Extension Talks
T E Mackenzie, superintendent of Monida and Yellowstone park stage lines, says a partial extension toward the park may occur this year though full expansion is unlikely. A rough grade along the north fork of the Snake River could run the full distance, crossing the river twice to bypass falls. The route would run on the east bank with a brief west-bank segment to escape the canyon. A Monida to park road would be costly due to mountains, but Henry Jake would ease the stage line by shortening a long dusty stretch. Plans for 20 sprinkling carts to cover about 100 dusty miles are under discussion, with piping considered but deemed impractical because of grades.
