Mrs. Lucile Sparrow dies of pneumonia at 29
Mrs. Lucile Sparrow wife of James Sparrow of this city died at 2 o'clock Sunday morning after a twelve day illness from pneumonia. She was 29 born May 17 1876 in Colorado Springs. She moving to Butte with husband, a barber, and had one six year old daughter. Funeral at Episcopal church Monday 2 pm, Rev S D Hooker officiating, interment Mountain View cemetery.

Death of Beaverhead Pioneer Nathaniel H. Wood
Nathaniel H. Wood a long time Beaverhead County settler and stockman died January 25 in Napa California. He came to the county in 1863, took up land on the Beaverhead river, and operated the Bliven Livestock Company ranch later owned by W F Drummey. He leaves a wife two sons and a daughter.

Lima Murder Case Ends In Acquittal For Lina Sheep Herder
William Mathewson a Lina sheep herder was tried in district court for the Chingiman murder and found not guilty after a crowded two day session. Witness Sam Moore testified amid chaotic details while jurors and spectators, including many Lima residents, watched the proceedings unfold.

Kennedy buys large beef cattle consignments in Montana
J Kennedy, buyer for Fryhe Bruhn Co of Seattle, purchased about 600 head of beef cattle in the Grasshopper and Beaverhead valleys. Cattle from Tash Lenkersdorfer and Edward Lloyd were bought for the Grasshopper, and from G R Featherby and J Guidici for the Beaverhead. Price around 31 4 cents a hundredweight for delivery at the railroad, with immediate shipment to Seattle. Also shipped three cars of fat cows and one car of calves from Poindexter Orr to Montgomery Butchering Co. at Anaconda. Kennedy has also bought 200 head from Martin Sorenson and 200 from Staudaker Johnson, shipped already.

Flag missing on Washington's Birthday in Dillon
John O Leary of Stedman Post G A R sought to raise Old Glory but the city flag was not found. It last flew July 4 1904 and may be stored somewhere. A new flag may be funded if the missing one is not returned for the G A R estate dispersal Decoration Day and the Fourth of July.

Death of Beaverhead Pioneer Robert H. Selway in Wagon Accident
Robert H. Selway, longtime Beaverhead County resident and businessman, died Friday at 3 AM from head injuries after a hay wagon overturned when a car approached. The coroner's inquest heard testimony about the crash near the home ranch, with Vogler's car cited as the proximate cause.

Bissell Austin Acquitted After Gambling Trial
Bissell Austin was tried Thursday on a gambling charge and acquitted by a jury after a tense 14 month case that began with an arrest in December 1903. County Attorney Melton led the prosecution with W S Parkour for the defense. Witnesses testified about losses and the drinks-for-play claim, while Undersheriff Dart and the bartender offered testimony. The jury deliberated about ten minutes, eight voting for acquittal and four for guilty, resulting in discharge of the defendant.

Dillon school bonds pass vote for new building
In a Saturday election the Dillon district approved a 16000 bond issue to build a new public school wing. Only 75 votes were cast with 40 for and 35 against, three women voting. Bond sale bids and construction bids will open March 25 at 2 pm in the public school. Work to start soon with occupancy planned for September.
