Montana county superintendents meet in Dillon

The state convention of county superintendents gathered in Dillon with 24 of 29 present. Meetings at the Normal Auditorium and Metlen Hotel featured papers on school habits librarianship and county institutes, field tours of the training school, and a motor trip through Beaverhead valley. Resolutions thanked Superintendent W E Harmon and the Normal College faculty and lauded eighth grade exams.

Forest Rangers to Meet in Dillon for Key Beaverhead Meeting

Beaverhead and Madison county forestry officials plan a major three day session in Dillon March 26 27 and 28 with about twenty five forest service officers plus state department leaders in attendance. The program covers district management fire plans grazing timber sales and related topics with each subject opened for discussion after papers are read.

Campbell Lectures To Large Audience At Grand Theatre

Prof. W. Campbell, renowned for dry land farming advances, spoke to ranchers and Dillon businessmen in Beaverhead County. The Beaverhead Commercial Club brought the talk. Frank Eliel presided. Campbell traced discoveries from Vermont to South Dakota, detailing soil packing, spring and fall plowing, and his grain and potato experiments, including his father tending crops. He discussed soil moisture, summer usage, and the science behind productive farming methods. The talk also touched on Theosophy and Co Masonry, noting shared principles and women’s advancement within Co Masonry.

Noted Woman Mason to Lecture in Dillon

Mrs Alida KE de Leeuw, famed Chicago lecturer and Theosophist, will visit Dillon and present two talks tomorrow at 8 pm and 8 am at the high school, focusing on Brotherhood and Masonry. Jury awards Cornell four thousand eight hundred dollars

In a condemnation suit Gilmore and Pittsburg Railroad Co. v Craig Cornell a jury fixed the land value at 1225 and damages at 3575 with no benefits, totaling 4800 plus costs. Earlier Poindexter and Orr Livestock Co. case awarded 8200 for right of way and damages. Judgments may be paid and possession taken. motions for new trials pending.

Fifth Sermon in Series On Christ's Law of Service

The First Presbyterian church will preach the fifth sermon in the series Christianity and the Social Order next Sunday morning. The sermon treats socialism from Christ's teaching and aims to relate the message to modern social conditions.
