The notice proclaims a mid winter clearance sale starting February 1 with many seasonable goods to be closed out before winter ends. It urges careful reading of descriptions and prices on standard items displayed on bargain counters.
Half price remnants of silks and dress goods fill the bargain counter. Taf feta silks, fancy silks, black goods, wool brocades, and dress patterns are reduced from past prices to low sale rates. Lingerie wraps and kid gloves offered at steep discounts with many colors and widths available.
The Birch Creek district in Montana known as Utopia is seeing development on the Iron Mine and other ledges. A New York company engaged, with crews expanding work toward a copper bearing face, while locals expect the project to progress and become a productive property.
The Lemhi Herald notes a significant vein discovery at the Goldstone mine just over the Idaho border from the Big Hole basin. A week of crosscutting has into the vein, six feet exposed with rich quartz on the hanging wall, water flooding the workings and delaying progress as crews brace for continued inflow.
