Beaverhead Stock Outlook Amid Mild Winter and Strong Grass
Beaverhead stock owners report little feeding as most livestock roam pastures. A mild winter with minimal snow, a Chinook, and heavy spring rains fostered a record grass crop from Big Hole basin to Horse Prairie, boosting cattle and sheep condition. Traders like F J Stroubel of Levy and J Kennedy of Fryde Bahn seek livestock for Frisco and Seattle markets, while hogs suffer from cholera near Sheridan.

Sheep Mine Ode to Copper Rich Vein Near Dell
Del road district supervisor P M Sweeney visited the county seat over Sunday. He is extending the Sheep copper property in Big Sheep basin about 30 miles west of Dell. He has driven 750 feet into the mountain tapping two veins of low grade copper ore. The Sheep carries copper gold and silver with assay certificates showing 27 percent copper. He uses snow to cool the tunnel air creating a steady draft and pure air. The Sheep vein is over 12 feet wide in granite near the Rockies mining range, with期待 a bright future for the district.
