Deputy Collectors Unable to Assist Due to Shortage

Lewis Penwell, collector for the District of Montana, says income tax Form 1040s for 1946 were mailed to taxpayers. Due to high volume and staff shortages, deputy collectors cannot visit small towns before January 15, 1947, but will assist at Helena and division offices January 2 to 15, excluding January 4 and 11.
