The Examiner will publish a weekly column of news briefs from the Veterans Administration service to veterans in the community. Veterans should contact or write their nearest VA office for further information.
The Veterans Administration announces the offering of more than 23,000 home loans with aggregate principal over $150 million for sale by private lending institutions. Loans were made under the Veterans Housing program to help veterans obtain GI four percent loans when private capital is not available.
The VA states guaranteed loans up to 60 percent are offered for sale to eligible purchasers including private lenders. Each loan has a $6600 initial principal, about 20 year maturity, and five to 10 percent down. Regional VA offices in Seattle Boise Portland Lincoln Fort Harrison handle inquiries.
