Miner McKinney Attempts Suicide with Razor
Clarence McKinney, 27, a Montana pioneer’s son and miner, used a safety razor to hack his wrist in a room over the Swiss Home saloon on Arizona and Mercury streets at 6:00 yesterday morning. Discovered by a roomer, he was taken to emergency hospital with a severed radial artery. his condition was not critical. He had recently returned from Bannack and reportedly drank heavily. He refused to discuss the case at city hall.

Prominent Citizen James Paxton Passes Away in Dillon
James Paxton a longtime Dillon resident and respected Beaverhead County pioneer died at his home after years with diabetes. The funeral was held at the Masonic hall with burial at Mountain View cemetery. Paxton born April 7 1850 in Blainsdale Scotland married in England in 1874. He came to America in 1882 and Dillon in 1886 where he and his family lived the remainder of his life. He was a Shriner and past master of the local Masonic lodge and leaves his wife and daughter Miss Katherine.
