Trial by jury waived in Heavey case before Judge Clark
Judge W A Clark heard evidence in the Rose Heavey versus Union Electric and Canyon Ditch case. The trial occupied two days and was taken under advisement. The plaintiff seeks damages from flooding caused by water from ditches controlled by defendants. Counsel included Colonel Nolan for Heavey and Robison Gilbert for Lovell Livestock. Canyon Ditch was represented by E J Callaway. Union Electric by Norris Hurd and Smith. Additional court orders listed numerous 1914 cases and a publication notice in The Dillon Examiner for two weeks.

Montana seed to represent state at Dallas National Seed Show
Seed chosen by Professor Atkinson of Bozeman will represent Montana at the National Seed Show in Dallas next February. The oats specimen grown by F. C. Summer Jr. of Clyde Park weighs 47 pounds per bushel and is rated equal to the New York prize winner. Other grains including wheat barley and corn will also be sent to Dallas by the Montana Seed Growers' association.
