George P. Hughes of Horse Prairie marked Beaverhead county beef prices for the 1927 fall season by selling a tar-load of steers at an average of 127.50 per head. The cattle weighed about 1160 pounds and brought 9.90 per hundred in Armstead as the shipping point.

Beaverhead county stockmen report nearly 12 000 head of feeder cattle shipped to Colorado Nebraska and coast points with feeders selling from 7 cents to 8 75 per hundred weight. Local commission men led sales and most shipments went through Beaverhead brokers to Los Angeles Oregon and Idaho markets. Deputy inspector D W Erwin notes majority of cattle originate in Divide and Melrose areas and total figures approach 12 000 head.

Ruth Ann Pyle 86 Dies. Funeral Set in Dillon

Ruth Ann Pyle widow of Marcellus Pyle, aged 86, died Sunday night at the Pyle ranch in Grasshopper valley. Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at the Methodist Episcopal church in Dillon with Rev. Howard B. Ricketts officiating. she was a beloved valey matron and mourned by many friends.

Former Beaverhead Poultryman Plans Giant Helena Incubator
