Thanksgiving day in Dillon featured a fatal horse riding accident and accompanying street brawls. Mexican immigrant John Hernandez, 22, died after being bucked from a double ride near Helena and Pacific streets. Witnesses said he landed heavily and Dr. MacMillan pronounced him beyond aid. Jones after a Thanksgiving dinner dispute, while Harry Hopper aided by D. Barton and D. J. Barton faced charges. Jones received ninety days. Barton posted bond and returned to work.
