Schools Readied for Dillon Opening of County High and Normal College
After a nearly three month vacation Dillon prepares for the September 4 opening of the State Normal College followed by the County High School and public schools. Faculty arrivals include Prof J F Monroe and Prof Forden with extensive training. campus work by Wagner, Caldwell, and Bishop has transformed grounds into a garden spot with an athletic track.

Dillon Youths Eloped to Marry in Livingston
Leon R. Grannis and Grace Hinkley, both from Dillon, married in Livingston on Monday after eloping. Grannis will live in Livingston working with Ben Hager. Hinkley has led a Dillon Tribune office career and is well known locally.

Dillon man arrested for Grasshopper robbery near Big Hole
Phil Crouty of Butte was arrested in Dillon on robbery charges. He pleaded not guilty and a preliminary hearing was set for tomorrow before Judge Rich. Crouty reportedly robbed ranchman Jim Nedrow of a gold watch and $20 in gold near the Gray house. The watch was recovered along the courthouse sidewalk after Crouty dropped it while en route to the county jail. Authorities found only seventy cents on him.

Wrestling Matches Highlight Dillon Street Fair
The Monarch Amusement Company wrapped up a Dillon street fair hosted by the Dillon Volunteer Fire Department on August 21. The Hippodrome tent drew a packed crowd for two wrestling bouts featuring Tom Davies of the company and Jack Collins of Butte, with Davies winning the best two of three in the final match after 26, 11, and 9 minutes. Davies and Collins may meet again later in the state.

Glen O Neal Injured in Muddy Horse Fall
Glenn O Neal of Bannack, recently employed near Dillon by Guy Carter, was badly bruised and cut when a horse fell on him as he rode from the Anderson livery barn. He was picked up semi unconscious, treated, and moved to John Lenkersdorfer’s home. Bones were not broken, but sprains and bruises are extensive.

Siebel Brothers Show Impresses Dillon Crowd Despite Rain
A rainy Friday didn’t dampen demand as the Siebel Bros dog and pony show opened in Dillon to large, enthusiastic crowds. The afternoon and evening performances drew strong turnout, with an excellent accompanying band and a lively street parade. Children’s day drew many despite the poor weather, and the show earned strong local favor.
