Hunting Season Opens September in Beaverhead Area

Irslinger Wins Wrestling Bout in Dramatic Finish

The Dillon Athletic Club hosted a handicap wrestling night led by Henry Irslinger, who defeated Ray Zimmer in straight falls 85 1 2 minutes and 2 25 for the hour. N. B. Ring, manager for Beaverhead Ranch, returned from Pocatello Idaho with a carload of high grade Hampshire rams. The rams were secured from Bicknell and Gimmel and are described as among the finest seen in the country.

W. S. Bayerd Dies After Gall Bladder Surgery

W S Bayerd a well known Dillon businessman died at St James hospital Butte last Thursday night from complications after gall stone operation He leaves two children Cecelia Pearn and Forrest G Bayerd burial was at Mountains View cemetery with service led by Rev Jesse Lacklen Bayerd born February 18 1862 in Salem Ohio lived in Helena Billings White Sulphur Springs and Dillon later running a Montana Bannack corner store He was progressive in politics and his death is deeply mourned by family and community The funeral was Sunday at 2 30 PM from the Methodist church

W J McHugh of Butte landed the largest trout by hook and line in Montana on a Big Hole River catch near Glen. The 35 pound rainbow set a state record and reflects a season of unusually large trout, with several ten pounders also reported in the past two months, surpassing previous 12 to 14 pound marks.

Monida Man Buys 1914 Cadillac in Dillon Visit

Bert H. Paul a prominent Monida businessman spent last Wednesday in Dillon with Mrs. Paul. He viewed and test drove one of the new 1914 Cadillacs received that week by Montana Auto Supply Co. The couple departed for home with the car, joined by Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Beardsley of Lima and Carl Mittlemeir of Monida.
