Third War Bond Drive Opens with Beaverhead Quota
Beaverhead’s share of Montana’s largest War Bond quota for the Third War Loan drive opens Sept 9 and closes Sept 30 at 485 500. Montana’s total quota is 35 million dollars. William H. Bartley, executive director, says the drive marks the greatest money-raising effort in the state’s history. He urges sacrifice matching the costs borne by service members as 95 cents of every federal dollar goes to war. Beaverhead July sales totaled 18,843.75 in E bonds and 400 in F and G. to date E sales reach 717,671.50. The Montana September plan calls for 12 million in E bonds, 3 million in F and G, 4 million in other bonds, and 16 million in corporate bonds, a substantial rise over April sales. Bartley emphasizes the quota is non debatable and urges collective sacrifice for victory.
