Annual Meet of Pioneers Set for Helena Run Sept 23 to 27
The thirty third annual meeting of the Society of Montana Pioneers will be held in Helena from Saturday September 23 to Wednesday September 27. State fair railroad rates will apply for out of town members and the gathering aims for large attendance. The business meeting is September 25 at the city auditorium with free use provided by the city. Monuments to Mullan Trail and statues of Lewis and Clark may be discussed as part of the events. The society reports about 1200 members historically, 2800 pioneers since 1884 with 1600 deceased.
