Beaverhead county commissioners fixed the 1936 levy at 46.18 mills, down from 46.83 last year. The .65 mill reduction is in the general fund from 12.99 to 12.34 mills, with state insurance uncertainty delaying further cuts. Other county and state levies remain steady. 14 school districts adjusted levies. Present were Chairman Hartwig and Commissioners Rife and Jackson.

Music events shine at Dillon college week
Dillon music lovers enjoyed reel programs at the normal college last week. The Nutle Symphony Orchestra directed by Ralph McFadden, and the women's chorus and men's glee club under Mrs Catherine Goodsell performed. Jane Waldorf, daughter of J and Mrs A F Waldorf, gave a piano recital with Marie Carter, Jess Whitney, Marguerite Collins, Ben M Goodsell, and McFadden participating in an appreciation concert. Mr Goodsell leads Olin and choral work at Montana State College and formerly played with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

Farm Truck Destroyed by Fire Near Dillon
Dillon volunteer fire department answered a Friday night blaze at the Matt Ries ranch six miles south of Dillon. A pickup owned by Raymond Ries was destroyed by a gasoline fire that started while the truck stood idle in the yard. Firefighters arrived to find the blaze largely out of control. The cause was listed as unknown.
