Homesteaders in National Guard receive earned credit
Washington August 21. Senator Myers has steered a bill through both houses and the president has signed it. The law provides that homesteaders serving in the National Guard on the Mexican border may count time in guard service toward final proof as if living on and cultivating their homesteads. They will not lose time spent in service and will be credited accordingly. This protects homesteaders called away by guard duty from losing their claims.
