Fearful Bank Robbery Attempt in Dillon Ends with Arrest

A noon attempt at the State Bank of Dillon ended when the masked suspect fired a shot that missed the clerk. The horse fell, injuring him, and bystanders Pease and Stephenson assisted before officers detained him. A second man believed to be an accomplice was being sought by Sheriff Gosman.

Gov White Injured In Auto Accident Near Farlin

Gov B F White and several companions were hurt when a tire burst on their Austin touring car, causing a rollover. White suffered a broken collar bone, Mrs Conway and Mrs Cushing were injured, Miss Conway severely, and two young daughters unhurt beyond minor scratches. The group was located after hours and brought to Dillon for treatment, with White the most seriously injured.

Cattleman and party tour state then theft of poultry

E. G. Davenport and Mrs. Poindexter with Mr. Poindexter plan a state tour by auto after visiting Grasshopper valley and Elkhorn Springs. During the trip they caught a fine string of trout. Later they were seen near Carl Bond’s chicken house and reportedly stole all fowls.

Dillon Ball Team Wins Two In Hamilton Clash State Title Hopes

Ed Farnsworth's Dillon ball team defeated Hamilton twice in Hamilton to claim early series wins over the Bitter Rooters. Collins pitched the Sunday 5 to 3 victory, while Hawker closed out the final game as Dillon won 5 to 3 after a nine to ten inning rally. Over 1200 and 800 attended the first two games respectively. Dillon plans further games in Dillon, Livingston, and Helena next week.

Section Foreman Robbed Near Railroad Avenue Depot

Section foreman John Malchinskey of the Oregon Short Line was robbed near his home three blocks from Reeder Street after boarding a train at the depot. The assailants, described as hobos, attacked him about 10 30 last Wednesday evening and fled with valuables.

Reservoir Water in Demand as Alfalfa Prospect Grows

Mr Knight vice-president of the Reservoir company reports strong water sales as ranchers recognize second alfalfa crop profits from 12.50 to 20 per acre. The firm delivers 2500 inches along the river near Dillon and three miles north. Also noted: Stephen Butler leaves Elling Hardware for Dart Hardware in Dillon with his wife, selling furniture to Mr and Mrs Geo Bench and boarding with them before departure.
