Arm of Plummer and Bannack Dance Folklore Revealed
Frank T. Conway recounts the Bannack tale of Henry Plummer and Hank Crawford. Dr. Glick amputated Plummer's arm after a fatal street fight and later unearthed the limb for inspection. A dog carried the arm into a dance causing panic and a mass exit, and the tale ends with Plummer’s hanging in 1864 and Crawford fleeing Bannack.
