Hazelbaker Leads Statewide Victory in Primary Lieutenant Governor Race

An official canvas shows Senator Hazelbaker winning the Republican nomination for lieutenant governor with a state majority of 18,098 and total 40,946 votes, the largest primary ticket majority on record. Incumbent Mr McCormack received 22,098 votes, about half as many.

Fifty-Seven to Graduate at the Nor Graduation Exercises

Frank Hazelbaker carried every county in the state but two with roughly two to one margins. Mc Cormick won his home counties Flathead and Blaine. Beaverhead favored Hazelbaker 843 to 216. Official county results follow.

Gerald Caskin a boy clerk at Chag H Niblack store acted as a young sleuth Saturday afternoon when two hay diggers attempted to steal a pair of gloves. He spotted the shoplifter and helped recover the item while the owner praised his keen eyes.

Body of Sheepherder Found in Centennial Valley

The remains of John Polson, a sheepherder for J. E. Morse, were found Saturday morning 200 yards from his camp on Antelope Creek. A bullet pierced his abdomen and autopsy confirmed death hours earlier. Coroner J. B. Phillips and Undertaker Brundage oversaw the inquest. authorities search for Polson’s gun as stormy weather is noted nearby.

Fourth Group Graduation at Normal College in 1928

Graduation exercises for the fourth division of the 1928 class at the Normal college will be held in the Normal auditorium at 10 16 next Wednesday morning. Fifty seven seniors will receive diplomas bringing total graduates to 227. The program includes processional, solos, address by Professor Lee R Light, presentation and conferring of diplomas by Dr E B Davis and Hon Frank Hitel, benediction by Rev H Tragitt.
