Montana faces constitutional challenge to legislative council
A Helena lawyer moves to file a taxpayer suit to block council expense claims, arguing the four senators and four representatives serving on the Montana legislative council hold improper public office and that payments exceed constitutionally permitted compensation. The dispute hinges on terms, offices, and state funding as interim commissions and related committees face similar scrutiny.
