Otto Schulz of Sheridan won the Dillon Gun club's registered trap with 98 of 100 tar gets. Ted Renfro and Hap Apgar, both Dillon members, and R Poore of Butte each scored 96. In the state postal shoot the club registered 74, the first non perfect score this season. Renfro and Apgar had 25s, with 24s by Tallent, P Westergaard and B Emerick. Renfro and Herman Peterson won the miss and out events.

Paving of nearly a mile on Dillon streets started this week under J C Maguire of Butte after his bid was accepted by the state highway commission. Maguire filed his bond with Clerk Albert Baker and preliminary work began with surveying and preparations. The 0.809 mile project on Atlantic Street from the Dillon Monida intersection totals 38797 73. Local labor will be preferred for ordinary work.

Lorraine McGrath won the dec lamation contest at Beaverhead County High School and will represent Dillon at the state contest in Missoula next month. Henry Kuhns placed second and Harold Wheat third with other entrants listed. The annual spring concert by the training school's instrumental music department will be held Monday evening with a 27 member band and a 24 member orchestra performing selections and solos.

Trainload of Big Hole cattle heads East for 1934 first shipment
A Montana cattle train of 28 cars carrying over 700 head left Armstead Monday for the East over the U P. Hormel Packing of Austin Minnesota ships to its plant, with cattle bought from six Big Hole stock growers. Grass fed Big Hole cattle are said to outrank corn fed eastern stock.

Quong Lung Kee Dies Here at 86 in Dillon
Dillon mourns Quong Lung Kee 86 longtime laundryman and Chinatown business operator who died Saturday night in his Cabbage Patch cabin after a lingering illness. A cousin from Butte arranged shipment of the body to Hongkong for burial among his Chinese ancestors. Kee arrived in Montana in the early days, worked in Bannack, then founded a laundry and later added groceries in Dillon. He was a familiar Fourth of July firecracker source for local children.

Girl Scout Course Offered at Montana Normal College
Olga Carlson directs a popular short Girl Scout course at Montana State Normal College starting next Monday through May 4. Carlson, regional director for the Rocky Mountain area, has prior teaching and leadership roles in Ogden Utah Briarcliff Manor New York and since 1931 in her current post. Seventy six girls and women have signed up including many Dillon residents and a course fee is charged.
