Night Watchman Foils Dart Hardware Burglary Attempt
Night watchman Fred Oliver interrupted an attempted break in at Dart Hardware Co last Wednesday spotting two men at the side door. One suspect fled toward Bammer's saloon and was later captured after hiding in brush by the river. Officials identified him as a recently released convict under aliases, with tools and a bogus fifty dollar draft found on him. He faces burglary charges in Butte after a police pursuit led to his capture.
