Victim of swindlers brought to Dillon
Sheriff Erwin of Dillon arrived with G F Brandell who says he lost $7 000 belonging to horse dealer George Ditty after being lured by wire tappers to bet on a bogus horse race. Brandell had been buying horses for Denver Mule and Horse Sales and for Ditty and told of arranging purchases at Salt Lake from a man named Myers.

Secret pool room swindle ends with big win then loss
Brandell risked seven thousand dollars in a secret pool room and won twenty one thousand, then bet that and lost. Swindlers sent him by train to Denver where he reported the tale to police. Sheriff Erwin pursued him as Salt Lake police were notified and will seek the robbers.
