Wool prices seen easing but buyers wary in Montana market

David Hilger of Lewistown says wool prices may open near 18 cents a pound, possibly rising to 22, with little chance of 23-cent wool this year. He cites tighter money markets in the East, cautious bankers, and reduced Montana consignments, noting July bids were 23 cents in Lewistown but netted just over 18 cents after interest. He favors selling on Montana markets. He also observes Boston buyers shun mining ventures unless gilt edged, shifting focus to secure capital.
