Stage horse purchases and cattle changes in Beaverhead region
George Breck of Yellowstone Park Transportation buys 11 horses in Dillon as he plans a larger mid month purchase to equip park lines. Cattlemen like Henry Gleed prepare to move 700 head to northern ranges as Beaverhead sheep pressure grows. Local stock prices average 47 to 52 dollars per head. A new 32 coach park fleet enhances capacity to move 1,200 passengers daily. A novel cash register at the Board of Trade draws crowds.
