Tariff Change Won't Bring Prices Down For Wool Growers
In Lake City on March 22 the National Wool Growers Association said no tariff change debated in Washington would lower wool prices. The group urged increasing the duty from 31 to 86 cents per pound of clean content, citing two million sheep across six states and a grease-cost of 40 cents per pound. They argued higher duties would bolster wool values and supported extra charges on reworked wool.
