Ramsey County Educational association meets at Devils Lake High
The Ramsey County Educational association held a 1900 meeting at Devils Lake High School on Saturday September 8 with Supt Fancher presiding late arrivals due to trains. Miss Rose Southam read Puritan Sunday and Miss Anna Fogle spoke on Our National Airs. Music by Miss Gertrude Kelley followed and F P Walker urged regular attendance. The executive committee added next month's program including instrumental music vocal solo and adjourned to October 13 1900.

Postoffice Rule On Misdelivered Mail Imposes $500 Fine
A new postoffice regulation prescribes a $500 fine or one year’s imprisonment for taking mail not belonging to a person and failing to return it promptly. It covers newspapers letters and other valuable mail. Recipients should check mail before leaving the office to avoid trouble, and blaming the postmaster is not a defense.
Public Library Opens with 1400 Volumes for County Readers
The public library in the courthouse resumes a new year with 1400 volumes. Hours are Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons and evenings for Ramsey county citizens. A book card costs fifty cents. Contributions include 45 from the O’Callahans for books, and a complete set of Waverley Novels from Mrs. W. Greene. The Coterie donated That Fortune and A White Umbrella in Mexico. New summer additions and a partial uncatalogued list follow with titles and authors such as My Fire Opal and In War Time by S Weir Mitchell.
