Wheat Grades Revised in North Dakota and Minnesota
The board of warehouse and railroad commissioners set new grain grades in St. Paul and Dakota territories. No. 1 spring wheat must be sound clean and weigh at least 50.8 pounds per bushel for Scotch fire, while No. 1 northern spring requires at least 52 pounds. Abolition of No. 1 hard spring and No. 1 northern grades from July 10 1885 takes effect Sept. 16 1885.
