The letter from MR. EPIZOOT WILKINS from Washington DC laments Democratic infighting over free silver, imperialism, and the Philippines. It advocates party unity by opposing interracial marriage bans and calls for new resolutions against miscegenation and foreign alliances, urging a strong 1900 campaign with fiery protests. The piece ends with an unrelated ad for The Youth's Companion calendar.
The 1900 volume enters its twenty fourth year with new serials and articles. Notable pieces include A Little Prince and Princess of Egypt, Playthings That Are Alive, Some Famous Animals, and stories by acclaimed authors. Babylanders receive monthly verse and pictures, with Cradle Songs of Many Nations. Premiums entice clubs and individuals at 50 cents yearly, sample copies available from Pearsons at Troy, New York.
