A Tokio paper claims a Japanese division landed in Liaio Lung peninsula on March 15 and fought Russian troops near Port Arthur while the fleet bombarded the town. County seeks state repayment of sheriff fees in insanity cases
County Auditor Steenerson has presented a bill to the state auditor for 1862.65 due the county on sheriff fees in insanity cases paid by the county during the past eight years. The state should have paid these fees. Ness alerted Steenerson, who will push for repayment and asks the governor’s aid.

Fort Totten Official Resigns From Agency Post
C Getchell announced his resignation from Fort Totten agency to take effect April 1. The office will be merged with Indian schools superintendent Davis, who will handle both duties. Getchell plans to relocate to Cheyenne and may start a business in Sheyenne.
