Training School Opens With Large Attendance and Strong Instructors
The training school began Monday under favorable auspices despite poor roads from prior rains. Fifty four registered the first day with more arriving later. Superintendent Fancher leads a capable team including Prof. Joseph Kennedy, Miss Sara Roberts, Miss Edith Shortt, and Prof. D Lange. Observers note excellent instruction, order, and devoted attention, with lectures by Lange and contributions from Roberts and Shortt. State Supt. Devine praised the program and explained new certification laws and reading circles as many teachers plan to stay through Chautauqua.
