A satirical piece from Bismarck Tribune lampoons grippe with a fictitious Mr. A. Grippe Microbe. It describes a theatrical catalog of symptoms and misadventures, from seasickness to violent mania, ending with the absurd medical prescription to swear through the ordeal.
The XIX century club presents Queen Esther at Wineman's Opera House February 1 and 2 with about seventy five voices and twenty five soloists. Prof. Robinson provides costumes costing around $1,000 as Hodgkinson's sells tickets at popular prices. A synopsis outlines scenes at the king's court, Mordecai and the Jews, and Haman's downfall. An insurance case note follows about a $6,000 policy and an anonymous letter claiming Musgrove is alive, dismissed as uncredible.
