The XIX Century club of Grand Forks pitched strong but placed third with 98 027 votes in the Herald piano contest. Winners were the M W A of Gilby with 285 782 votes and the M W A of Grand Forks with 288 572 votes. The paper notes two prizes were offered, both fine instruments, and that additional prizes will be awarded to nonwinning societies without further effort.
