Bridge plans loom large for Devils Lake business men
In a key meeting at John W. Maher's office the Devils Lake business men formed a committee to push a Pelican Point bridge across Devils Lake with an estimated cost of 4500 dollars. They aim to raise 1500 locally and secure the rest from county commissioners and local elevator firms. The drive seeks regional support to open the Fort Totten Indian reservation for settlement and to rally Eddy Benson Nelson Ramsey counties for a January mass meeting. A survey team led by W S Russell arrived to estimate costs, with about 600 dollars subscribed at the gathering and a goal of 2000 dollars.
