City Council approves bond and liquor licenses 1889
A special meeting on December 20 1888 enrolled Aldermen Cleveland Jenks Prescott Mann the mayor and auditor with Hurst Pattie absent. They approved the city engineer’s grading estimate and the treasurer’s bond of ten thousand dollars with four sureties amid debate over two unspecific sureties. Applications were received from C S Paulson and Angus McKay for retail liquor licenses for 1889. The council also planned to print the sidewalk grading estimate and set January 8 1889 for final approval before adjourning to December 29 1888.
