Clubbing to buy beer treated as serious offense in North Dakota
Otto Thoempke and friends bought beer at regular intervals on his Wheatland farm acting as agent for others. A neighbor complained about the activity, though no sale to others occurred. Judge Pollock found them guilty and the supreme court affirmed, ending the clubbing business in the state.
