Mayor William J. Gaynor of New York was shot from behind aboard the Kaiser Wilhelm Der Grosse en route to Europe for an eight month vacation. Devils Lake Plumbing and Heating Co. won the boiler job at 1325 dollars, Joe Jilik won the plumbing at 867 dollars, and Stevens Grain & Fuel Co. was awarded coal supply. One-half dozen cut glass sherberts sold at 1.75 dollars at Huesgen's.
