Welcome Lodge No. 54 Receives Charter at Churchs Ferry
A notable event at Churchs Ferry last Thursday saw Welcome Lodge No. 54 A. F. & A. M. receive its charter from the Grand Lodge and install officers. Grand Master Percival and Deputy Greene presided as members from Devils Lake and Minnewaukan attended. Festivities featured a grand banquet with ample dishes, cigars, and hospitality, concluding with wishes for future reciprocity from Minnewankan lodge No. 21.

State board of equalization raises property values in North Dakota
A special from Bismarck reports the state board of equalization agrees on changes in assessed valuations. Railroad property jumps about 30 percent to roughly 17 million, real property up about 10 percent, total real property near 72 million, personal property up from 20 million to 25 million. Overall state valuation climbs to about 117 million, an increase of 13 million versus last year, marking the largest property raise in state history.
