Dan Rice’s Honest Payment of Tent Debt Tale
The veteran clown Dan Rice once couldn't start a show in Cincinnati for lack of a tent. A tent maker offered a near finished canvas tent for 2500 dollars, with repayment promised when Rice could. Two weeks later Rice surprised the man by paying the full amount, a gesture the canvas maker recalled as proof of Rice’s honesty.
