City Council opens with oath and new committees appointed
The mayor and aldermen took their oaths and the mayor delivered a regular annual address urging sanitary precautions and fire protection. Bonds were filed for the city treasurer and several appointments and committee assignments were approved. The council discussed sidewalk widths, culverts, and an artesian well site, with adjournment set for April 20, 1888. Also included are notices of medical cures and local advertisements for Dr. King’s New Discovery and related remedies.
