Hon J W Lengister reported a telegraph from James I Hill showing Secretary Lamar overruled Commissioner Sparks's 1885 suspension of final land patents. The Interior Department ordered patents issued for homestead and pre emption lands across Dakota Colorado Montana Idaho Utah Wyoming Washington New Mexico Nevada and Minnesota where law was met.
