Meeting of the Stock Association at Towner
A special meeting of the Cattle Ranges Stock Association was held at the courthouse in Towner on the 26th with Vice-President Marjoribanks presiding at 3 p.m. Members present included C. Marjoribanks J. E. Reed Jno Ely E H Thursby Berners Kelley Frank Conkling Ed Conkling Marion Harris W R Harris Ged Soule and Ed Richards. A bylaw was adopted to levy 1 percent tax for fire breaks and set up a six member committee to oversee construction with duties and compensation for members. The plan requires work from June 1 to 20 each year and penalties for noncompliance. The committee must also mobilize members to fight prairie fires in each district. The meeting adjourned for July.
