Computers Bring Hope To Learning
University of Florida education professor Mary Grace Kantowski demonstrates how classroom computers engage seventh graders in problem solving. Programs titled Goats and Ducks and Yippees and Quarks help students explore arithmetic, patterns, and efficient solutions with interactive graphics, hints, and tables. The approach, supported by NSF and NIE funding, aims to build mathematical understanding beyond rote answers.
